Craft and Crumb : A Birthday in a Box

The end of the year is always a crazy time for us. Both of the girls have their bithdays two weeks apart from each other, then the week after we celebrate Sinterklaas, only to then celebrate Christmas and New Year shortly after that! It's a whirlwind of parties but always a lot of fun!

When it comes to birthdays like every child does, Florence talks about hers weeks in advance and she always has definite ideas what her cake will look like. This year she was dreaming of a rainbow and unicorn party and I found the absolute perfect cake for her from Craft and Crumb.

Set up by two friends who wanted to make baking a show stopper cake a totally calm experience for parents, Kate and Louise of Craft and Crumb have totally nailed it with their unique and so utterly delicious cake baking kits.

Made with 100% organic ingredients, exclusive decorations, and all the tools to make the cake (even disposable cake pans) and such detailed pictorial step-by-step instructions the girls and I had such a great time making Florence's dream of a rainbow cake come true!

I took a leap of faith in the girls knowledge of cooking and allowed them to prepare the cake themselves. Helena carefully laid all of the equipment out and read the instructions to Florence who followed her every word.

I loved watching their faces as they baked. There was a lot of excitement in the studio that day! Just look at the happy smiles on Florence's face!

The actual icing of the cake I took control of as there were too many smarties getting eaten! But when Florence woke the next morning she was so happy with her cake and said it was exactly what she was wishing for!

Happy 5th Birthday Florence!

Craft and Crumb have an amazing range of cake baking kits. I've already got my eye on the Up, Up and Away kit for the next party!
